Community-Based

Lincoln Families knows that every child and family can succeed when they have the resources and support they need. Youth in child welfare systems are at a greater risk of dropping out of school and experiencing unemployment, homelessness, incarcerations, mental health challenges and more. Our community-based family programs strengthen stability and permanency, providing critical mental health supports and resource navigation services.

Intensive Home-Based Services

Home Supports
Few events are more traumatic for children than being removed from their families and entered into the foster care system. This transition affects their physical and emotional health, development, and academic success. Lincoln's Intensive Home-Based Services (IHBS) teams provide targeted supports in the home and school for foster children and youth at risk of foster care placement.

Kinship Support Services

Stable Families

Lincoln Families knows that children do best when they remain in safe, stable, and familiar environments that relatives can provide. Relative caregivers are the backbone of the child welfare system, stepping up to fill the gap when challenges take parents away from raising their children. Lincoln’s Kinship services supports the unique needs of each caregiver and child to keep families together.

Mandela Family Resource Center

Heart of the Community

Family Resource Centers (FRCs) serve as place-based hubs for creating meaningful social change in diverse communities. Lincoln’s Mandela FRC in West Oakland provides concrete supports, coordination of local resources, and programs focused on community advocacy, education, and leadership.

Multidimensional Family Therapy

Wellness and Recovery

Youth with substance use issues are at a higher risk for mental health problems, including depression, behavioral issues, and suicide. Lincoln’s Multidimensional Family Therapy (MDFT) provides short-term intensive therapy to families and youth struggling with substance use and mental health challenges.

Project Permanence

Home Permanency

Youth who have been in foster care, the juvenile justice system—or both—typically face great challenges as they transition back to their families. Many have experienced trauma, which affects not just their youth, but also the adults they will become. Lincoln's Project Permanence provides intensive home-based supports during critical times of transition.

Therapeutic Behavioral Services

Strong Families

Life with a child struggling with severe emotional and behavioral issues can become an overwhelming stress for the whole family, and jeopardize the child’s ability to remain at home. Lincoln’s Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS) teams work with the entire family in crisis to find solutions to ensure stability, and reduce and manage challenging behaviors.
