Careers

Lincoln Families is an innovative nonprofit leader on the cutting edge of delivering programs that change lives and strengthen communities. Our employees are mission-driven, passionate individuals who have come together from a rich variety of backgrounds and experiences to serve children, youth, and families. We share common goals to disrupt the cycles of poverty and trauma, to celebrate culture, diversity, and equity, and to make a difference in our communities. It takes a team of extraordinary talents to produce the impact that only Lincoln Families can!

Who We Are

People often wonder about our “secret sauce.” It’s simple really. The secret behind any success is the people involved. Not everyone gets to work at Lincoln Families. They are chosen.

To be Lincoln is to be passionate, innovative, and relentlessly committed to seeing families succeed. Our staff know that no child or family is the same. We believe:

  • That one-size-does-not-fit-all when providing supports for youth and families.

  • That the best approach is to walk with families to build a plan to remain stable and together.

  • That success happens when the strengths and cultural experiences of youth and families are built upon and celebrated.

We embody our deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in our recruitment of staff who reflect the communities we serve, with over 70% of us professionals of color. Click here to see why our employees have ranked us as a Top Bay Area Workplace for multiple years!

New Hire Orientation

Our newly hired employees attend a comprehensive introduction to Lincoln’s various support departments, affinity groups, and equity teams. New staff learn key elements of compliance, protocols, and workflows so that they can be quickly oriented to both their responsibilities and how to get support. Regardless of role, all new hires receive experiential workshops in our foundational trainings, which include: Trauma-Informed Practices, Cultural Humility, and Attachment Theory and Practice.

Promotional Opportunities

Creating pathways for internal growth and movement is important to us and professional development opportunities for staff are critical to this. Our commitment to maintaining and supporting a well-trained, diverse staff begins with an extensive new hire orientation and continues to include ongoing training generated by the needs of our staff. Comprehensive training, including offerings that meet the California Board of Behavioral Sciences Continuing Education requirements, prepares staff to deeply understand our programs and who we serve, and to increase job and industry knowledge. Staff are also trained to be aware of and practice respect and cultural humility, and to question and challenge racial, cultural and socio-economic biases.

“Lincoln is a place where they really allow you to be creative and be yourself. They want you to bring your passion, your reality, and your world to the workforce.”
