ADVOCACY

Since beginning an intentional focus on advocacy work in 2017, we have engaged the community and Lincoln Families staff in critical thinking to improve the systems that serve youth and families, inform our strategic involvement in collective social action, and align programs with need. Through this process, advocacy priorities were identified focused on promoting, galvanizing, and healing the communities we serve. We are committed to involving staff in decision making and direct advocacy, and building capacity to participate in community change.

Our STRATEGIC Priorities

Place-Based Care: Advocating for sustainable funding streams for Family Resource Centers.

Racial Justice: Expanding access to quality, culturally relevant behavioral healthcare through reducing barriers for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) professionals entering and thriving in mental health fields.

Economic Mobility: Advancing economic mobility in under-resourced communities; protecting safety-net programs; reducing the wealth gap; and promoting housing as a fundamental human right.

Housing Stability

Advocating for increased availability and access to affordable housing and inclusive policies that support all Californians through researching and sharing rental assistance programs, understanding changing policies at all levels, and navigating tenant rights within case management.

Staff Advocacy

Immigrant Families

Advocating and supporting the needs of undocumented families through researching and learning about immigrant rights, responding to crises as they arise, and uplifting community voices to dismantle barriers, empower families, and provide resources.

Public Safety

Advocating to dismantle the School-to-Prison Pipeline and advance racial justice in our schools and communities through reimagining public safety, disrupting cycles of police involvement in community mental health crises, and building staff capacity to provide de-escalation interventions.
