Fresh Swag for Freshman!
Throughout the years at Lincoln Families, young individuals have developed confidence and nurtured aspirations for the future. We are delighted to announce that 51 teenage graduates from Lincoln Families programs have enrolled in postsecondary education this autumn! They will be pursuing studies at institutions like UC Merced, Laney College, and different trade schools, marking a remarkable achievement in their educational paths.
This milestone reflects the hard work and determination of the graduates, along with the steadfast support from their families, Lincoln staff, and mentors. Each graduate leaves equipped with skills and resilience, along with new laptops, backpacks, flash drives, and other items funded through our efforts. We couldn't have done this without our incredible lead donors, Lincoln's Daffodils and Wallflowers, who so generously supported this project and so many others over the years. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to each graduate. Their journey is just beginning, and we are excited to see the incredible contributions they will make to the world.
Lincoln Once Again Voted Top Workplace in the Bay Area!
We are pleased to announce that Lincoln has been recognized as a 2024 Top Workplace Culture Excellence winner for the fourth consecutive year. Awards are based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage LLC. The anonymous survey measures specific areas of workplace culture, including innovation, work-life flexibility, compensation and benefits, just to name a few. Allison Staulcup Becwar, President and CEO of Lincoln, was also awarded a Top Workplace Leadership Award recognizing the exceptionally high ratings she received regarding her leadership.
Lincoln Families Summer Olympics Camp 2024!
Our HOPE-Alameda Elementary team truly went above and beyond in co-creating the "Enchanted Olympics" theme for this year's summer program. By combining the concepts of enchantment and competition, the team was able to foster a sense of empowerment and celebration for each of the program participants. Through community outings in Oakland, the kids were exposed to new and exciting experiences that they may not have had access to otherwise. From rock climbing at Pacific Pipe to swimming in the redwoods at Roberts Park pool, the summer program provided a safe and nurturing environment for the children to explore and grow. By using a trauma-informed lens and cultivating a welcoming atmosphere, the staff members were able to help each child tap into their inner champion and embrace the enchantment of the summer program.
